The Hummingbird Healing Center offers private retreats as well as retreats for small groups. Each of our ayahuasca retreat prices includes all medicine, meals, laundry service and transportation to and from the center.
We’ve created comfortable surroundings and amenities set in a beautiful tropical forest environment so that you can be physically content and at ease while doing this deep and often challenging work. Our aim is for you to relax while you process and integrate the work done during ayahuasca ceremony.

The common area has been furnished with comfortable couches, chairs and hammocks, either indoors or on our shady porch so that you can unwind in a way that’s best for you. We have fully stocked bookcases with reading material on ayahuasca, san perdro and other healing plants as well as information of a broad range of topics. You’ll also find art supplies available to you if you want to express your experiences through painting or drawing.
Our grounds are exquisitely laid out to complement the surrounding tropical forest, and attracts a host of indigenous wild and bird life, allowing you to integrate the natural healing powers of nature into your journey. We find that many guests are surprised by the real beauty of their surroundings when they arrive because it’s difficult to feel the splendor from pictures on the website .
You can also wander around our garden paths, through the lush greenery that’s scattered with bursts of colorful blooms. You’ll find plenty of benches available for you to relax under the shady trees. There are streams running through the retreat with bridges, and we have a swimming pond where you can have a splash and cool down.
Despite being in a region of tropical Amazon rainforest, we don’t experience a significant problem with mosquitoes and flies. It would be unrealistic to expect there to be no insect life at all in this area, but most of our guests can get by without needing to use insect repellant. If you would like to bring along some protection along, however, we recommend that you bring natural insect repellants that are readily available in stores, or you can make your own.
Every guest has a private room. However, all of the rooms in the guest house have two beds in case you’d like to share a room with a friend. We also have a room with a king-size bed for couples.
Most guests on the 9 Day Retreat and 12 Day Retreat are housed in our guest house which is situated on the far side of the swimming pond. Guests booked on a Personalized Healing Retreat will typically be on a dieta to facilitate their healing, and will stay in a tambo (hut in the jungle) for greater privacy.
If there are tambos are available, guests on 9 or 12-Day retreat may choose to sleep in one at no extra charge. Tambos have their own private toilet, along with a table, chair and a hammock inside.
The guest house has a large porch with hammocks and rocking chairs. All our rooms have shelves for your clothes and personal items, a place for your dirty laundry, and a writing table and chair. Electrical lighting is available until our generator is turned off at 10:00 pm.
Many centers charge extra for upgrades to better or private rooms, but the Hummingbird ayahuasca center doesn’t!
All meals are included in our ayahuasca retreat costs, and all food that is served in our dining room is fresh, wholesome and in-line with the ayahuasca diet. Meals are mostly vegetarian, but we occasionally serve fish or chicken.
We will happily cater to those on vegan, vegetarian or gluten free diets.
Our kitchen is fully tiled and meets all Peruvian health and safety standards for ayahuasca retreat centers.
A full laundry service is also included in all of our ayahuasca retreat costs. We provide a laundry bag in each room that will be collected when full. All clothes are hand washed, folded and put on a table in the common area when dry.
Ayahuasca ceremonies are held in our maloca, a traditional healing temple.
During each ayahuasca ceremony participants are provided with a mattress, pillow, blanket, bowl for purging and tissue paper to clean up.
This ceremonial space may also be used to meditate, do yoga or go to contemplate your experience during daylight hours.
Our center doesn’t offer any gadgets, TVs, internet or other distractions of the modern world that will get in the way of your experience. We want you to focus on your healing. We encourage guests who have internet access on their phone to turn it off and actually "retreat" from the world while staying at our center.
A charging station is, however, available so that guests can charge their phones, cameras or laptops. We aren’t connected to the electrical grid, but our generator does run three times per day, so there is ample opportunity to charge your items.
